When burned or buried in soil, it does not produce toxic gas, rather it decomposes completely into carbon dioxide and water which will not pollute the environment. PLA nonwovens are made from PLA resin or fibers which are produced from bioplastics derived from natural sources like starch and sugar.

Strong yet soft like traditional nonwovens

PLA fibers are very durable due to its 95% crimp resilience which is better than any other chemical fiber on the market. While being very strong, this textile remains soft to the touch making it comfortable yet long-lasting. PLA is a sustainable, compostable material that replaces petroleum based Non-Wovens for Medical PPE, Furniture, Filtration, Packaging, Industrial, andCommercial use. PLA is a sustainable material, the base resin is derived from corn and is degradable and biocompostable. It has a very attractive biocompatibility profile and is resorbable and safe in terms of cytotoxicity versus synthetic fibers.
